Trademark Renewal

Trademark renewal is required in India to ensure that a registered brand remains valid and protected. Here’s a summary of the trademark renewal process:

Timing: Trademarks in India are initially registered for ten years from the date of application. Renewals can be filed six months before the registration expires or six months after the expiration, subject to additional expenses.

To renew a trademark:  the trademark owner or their agent must submit a renewal application to the Trademark Registry. The application should be submitted in the prescribed form, together with the prescribed money.

Renewal Certificate: After completion of all procedures, the Trademark Registry issues a Renewal Certificate, confirming the trademark’s renewal.
